Pathways (EAP 1 & EAP 2)
University Preparation Courses

Course Overviews

Pathways consists of 2 12 week intensive courses designed to enhance reading strategies, writing styles and research skills in order to prepare students for the challenges of studying in Canadian colleges or universities. Upon successful completion of EAP 2, students will satisfy the English Language Proficiency Requirement for their choice of University or College. No external test is required from inlingua Victoria to any of our partner universities or colleges. By exploring themes of credibility, objectivity, and bias, students are expected to know how to use over 400 academic words while reading and writing over 2,500 words per week. To graduate, students will complete an independently researched major paper, and present their work using modern methods. Throughout the course, students are exposed to real lectures, participate in debates on controversial topics, and are expected to participate in cross-cultural discussions on a daily basis.
